Eep!

Alrighty, so, it's been a little while...school started, as I'm sure you guys know. Hence, I've been a smidgy bit busy. Sophomore year pretty much rocks, so far. I'm told it's going to beat us over the head and turn us all into poached eggs, like the Frying Pan of Doom...*allows moment for those not huge fans of Patricia C. Wrede to realize that they have NO clue what that means*, but for now it's just really fun. Our readings are difficult but rewarding in sheer awesomeness. I can't believe that I've never read Augustine before. I had no clue what I was missing. And Ptolemy, judging from what little I've read, is awesome. I have no idea if Aunt Kathy ever read the Aeneid, but it's just as much "spear goes in, spear goes out" as the Illiad, if not more so. Lots of detail. I'm about to have a class on that, and at the moment I must admit it makes very little sense. Juno runs around making a huge mess out of everything. Fate defeats her plans and plots. Lots of gore. Woohoo. In lab we're doing Pascal. Our classes tend to consist of us poking holes in his method and then the tutor doing some sort of funky cool experiment that shows that he was right anyway, which none of us were denying. Kinda fun. Oh, and latin. That's...latiny. *nod*
The way cool part about math this year is that we have to watch stars. If any of you are out far enough from the lights to check out Scorpio(and at a low enough latitude...I think you can see it from Dallas), you really should. It's been stupendous. It can be seen, from here, at least, up until about midnight, lowish in the south. But then, we have mountains, so maybe it can usually be seen later. If you see a huge elongated curlicue in the sky with a big red star in the middle, that would be it.
Other news....there isn't much other news. We all sit around and study. And now it's dinner time. Goodbye!
