*sigh*
I miss you guys...the campus is so empty without you. A month and a half left! *sigh*
And they're cutting down the trees...so nothing is the same as it was during the school year. The commons, the dorms, the office, now down below. Our dear incoming freshmen are going to miss out on all the lovely trees...and attack squirrels...and gravel that gets in your shoes....well, no, that'll still be there. The campus seems much, much smaller when you can see Father Borden's house from the Library.
Anyway, I love you all. Even the ones who aren't TAC people. *nod*
Off to eat food to remind me that at least some things do change for the better! Lol. We had wonderful steamed mussels and clams yesterday with lunch. So good! Of course, that was served as a side to "chicken fried steak", which was more like "undercooked compressed hamburger meat" But the potatoes were really good, so you could survive on mussels, clams, and potatoes.
meh. anyway. I'll post again soon (see, Peter? I post!) much love to all.
salad days...
I've discovered that you can only eat so much salad before you find yourself avoiding the leaves and, y'know, healthy things, and picking out the bits of fried wonton and chicken. Deep fried flour. Yummy.
dumdeedum....pt 2
I had already titled a post dumdeedum *sigh*
So. I've done nothing. As John's blog says(me being the doll), I've started learning guitar somewhat. I have no mad guitar skills. I can play the opening few notes of "Come as you are" by Nirvana, and that's about it. I can also play the beginning of "We're going ot be friends" by the White Stripes(senior song!!). For those of you who don't know it, it involves two strings, one at a time, with lots of time for each note. But I've only spent maybe 3 hours practicing, ever, so...I'll give myself time.
My corset is coming soon! I ordered a corset, and it's beautiful. For those of you who would worry, it's the same size as my waist, so it isn't going to be too tight and kill me. I just want it cuz it's purtiful.

See?
Anyway, it will come soon. Yay!
Um...I want to start using my camera as an actually art thing. That being why I got it and all. I'm going to see if Amy will wear my clothes and let me take pictures of her...or maybe act as a living tripod for me. That would work.
I need a real tripod...the dead kind. So I can skip the Amy step, since I know she has better things to do with her time. Like play Sims on my computer.
Oh, and I'm getting a new phone(yay for knowing people who know people!) so I'll have night and weekend minutes of my own. Then I can stop stealing phones. Good stuff, that.
Time to get back to work, my lovelies. I'll post again at some point. Love to all!
Paco: email me, or call me, or something! I think my junk email is in my profile...if it's not, it will be. I'll give you my real email from there. Sorry about the uptightness, but I finally have a spam-less account, and I like it that way.
Portrait of a Lady
I just finished
Portrait of a Lady by Henry James.
I have no idea what the book means.
If anyone has read it and understands it, please tell me! It ended and...I was just confused. I have no clue what he was trying to say, or what he meant by what he did say.
Help!
title? I need no title....
dumdeedum...
I made beds today. It really is amazingly sweaty work, for some reason. Not much fun either.
*sigh*
So, how is everyone? I don't talk to anyone anymore. *wave*
I'm going to start writing things and posting them here. However, I haven't started yet. I'm kinda working on a script, and maybe I'll post scenes. And then you guys can tell me how to make it decent. *nod*
And...you all need to come visit TAC....
We cleaned the office and rearranged things today. Very exciting. I promise.
But then, I work with Blum. How could it not be exciting?
I may get a cell phone with free nights and weekends soon. Then I could call all of you and actually talk to you, rather than posting ineffectual and boring rambles. My mom found a deal that's almost free :)
You know what's awesome? Standing at the top of the steps from upper campus to lower campus, in the bright sunshine, with your face about a millimeter away from the hot white concrete of the railing thingy, and a breeze making it's way through that millimeter. I recommend it.
It's also fun to read everyone's applications in the patch of sunshine on the floor int he admissions office, and then to stand up and have everything look strangely green and spinny.
Speaking of applications, this incoming class is really cool. Some of them have such fascinating lives, and alot of them write extremely well. I'm really looking forward to meeting them. Of course, it'll be a bit odd...
"Hi, I'm Mary Rose, I'm a sophomore. What's your name?"
"Simon"
"Oh! Simon ______? Lifelong friend of Francis ____, from Canada! Your father runs a home schooling program from your farm, where you help out all the time, and you're a musical genius! Nice to meet you!"
And then he runs away and hides from the creepy psychic chick. *sigh*
But hey, it'll still be cool.
I went up to Tehachapi last weekend to visit Michelle. That was cool...she has an awesome backyard for croquet(sp?). Very flat, with a couple of odd ruts and bumps to make it interesting. I lost, of course. I always do if I don't have John-the-Amazing to play wonderfully and come back and save me. It was nice to see Michelle. I love her family. Her mom is so fascinating to talk to, and her little sisters are very sweet. And, of course, it was great to see my big brother, who came to drive me up. He drove 5 hours south and then two hours back north to Michelle's to get me. Isn't he wonderful?
Hmm...I'll post again later. Now I'm going to go read everyone's blogs. How unusual, lol.
Love you all!
maybe 4 a year?
aHA! I am posting EARLY!
muahahaha...
not that I have anything to say or anything, but I'm kinda bored, so I'm posting.
So I'll just talk about what I've been talking about all week, except not to anyone who reads this, because I haven't talked to anyone who reads this, since JB doesn't bother(not like anyone bothers anymore, but whatever)
So, yes, I have an awesome family. I just went to a family reunion type thing, aka my grandparent's 50th anniversary, and met all of my 2nd cousins and great aunts and uncles and all sorts of people that I'm related to in some way but I'm not sure how, and they are all really cool! I'm going to try to get to San Diego to see them all again some time soon...if I can afford the train.
And I have a gorgeous new camera, which takes very nice very big pictures. I had been planning to get it at the end of the summer, but a friend of the family was getting married and wanted my family to tkae pictures for her, so I got it for that.
And...hmm...I'm working on campus, so anyone in the area is highly encouraged to come visit me, since it's ridiculously boring here.
dum dee dum...
Jen and Amy and I are all going to sleep in one room and live in the other, since I don't really want the single I have. So as soon as the library closes I'm going to go unbolt beds and things. A dangerous pastime, I'm told.
And my camera is pretty...
They've made definite progress on the chapel/office buildings. They flattened the parking lot again...I'm sure it's much flatter this time than last time. And they color coded the trees, too. Very exciting.
So, yes, I have posted without saying anything. Aren't you proud of me?
Goodnight!
