Semi-annual post....

Mkay, it's been six months since I've posted. In fact, six months and 5 days. Dude.

I'm at the Turrentine's house...very bloggy atmosphere here. So, I blog.

Meanwhile, JB is beating me over the head with his fist. (not strictly true writes jb with one hand)

There are lots of fun peoples here, all wandering around being awesome and stuff.

I'm tired, did I mention that?

Okay, I posted! Now all of you have to start checking my blog every day again so you can see me not post!

No, I'll be good. I'll post again. Sometime.

Watching people is entertaining here, you know. I just watched Pete try to drink water and fail miserably, and Mary wipe the water off his chin. Very odd. Out the window is a fire with people smoking and drinking and stuff, and downstairs is a bunch of people with guitars and banjoes and lots of Irish music. And candy, because it's not Good Friday anymore. Yay!

This Good Friday was way different than any other in my experience. For one thing, I'm not in Irving. That obviously makes a difference.
(self-interruption-- I'm trying to beat JB with a tape dispenser, and it's not working! How hard do I have to hit this boy? Sheesh!)
And it didn't rain at all, which is weird. I miss our storms. But, getting to the stuff that actually matters, I discovered that there's something very different about the way things work when how long you spend at church is entirely up to you and has nothing to do with your family. That sounds odd, but just being able to stay in church for four hours straight is very new. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have wanted to last year, though. TAC is good for that. So is John. That, and my mother would never let me fast all day(as in, no food at all) for fear that I would keel over and die. She's right, of course, my heart started doing very odd things tonight. But I didn't die. See? *is alive*

Hmm...it's 2:02 am. No sleep for a while, though...the place where I'm sleeping tonight also happens to be the place where they're playing Irish songs.

I finished Brideshead Revisited yesterday. That book was really, really good-- especially the last page. I've never seen the point of a book so cleverly hidden until the very last second, and then made so thoroughly clear. I really need to read more Waugh.

Now I'm working on a weird book called Embezzling Heaven. It's apparently about a woman who conceives of a fool-proof plan to get herself into heaven, dishonestly I assume. I'm fascinated to see how she manages that one. It was one of those random books I'd never heard of before that I happened to see in the TAC library and decided to pick up because the title was so weird. Since I'm staying here all summer(TAC, not the Turrentines'...)I'll probly read a whole lot more of those.

I'm also going to learn Greek. Wahoo!

I think that's enough blogging. If I get the camera I want maybe I'll post pictures.
Till next time, then, which may or may not be less than 6 months from now.
